Business Intelligence Analyst

The Analyst, Business Intelligence will support the business in understanding drivers of sales, customer management, delivery and ultimately profitability through reporting, analysis and insights. This role will be responsible for consistently driving data quality and measurement through key milestones, correlating internal and external events to KPIs and supporting a culture of evidence based decision making. As the data analyst, this position will focus on enhancing the use of various analytics tools, data and insights that enable data driven decisions for Flashstock.

What we'd like you to do:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Extraction and analysis of complex information from a variety of databases
  • Develop capabilities to identify areas of opportunity and improve processes and efficiency on reporting
  • Manage the web analytics metrics and KPI reporting; develop and deliver both regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for various groups within Flashstock
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to the business as required focusing on creating repeatable procedures where applicable
  • Participate in workgroups as assigned, providing analytics data and insights to inform initiatives
  • Act as gatekeeper with regards to security and confidentiality of data obtained through all sources.
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Sales and Marketing and Operations groups, on cross functional projects and initiatives
  • Create and publish project documents (BRD’s, Report layout, Data and process flows, ‘how to’ guides) to all stakeholders
  • Consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them.
  • Prototype new data products and models with internal teams to build better reporting and analytics products
  • Strong background with numerical analysis and being able to identify real insight from data using analytical methods
  • You must be able to take complex data and explain it in a simplistic and meaningful way to align with partner objectives

Who you are:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics preferred
  • Senior, grad student or recent graduate of BS in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
  • Minimum 0.5 – 2 years related working experience (includes internships or co-op placements)
  • Experience in utilizing advanced SQL data extraction and manipulation tools
  • Advanced MS Office skills ( Excel, Word, Access)
  • Knowledge of languages or statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (SPSS, SAS, R, Python, Mongo etc)
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, DOMO, Qlik etc. and exposure to web analytics tools (e.g., Omniture SiteCatalyst, WebTrends, CoreMetrics, Google Analytics) and/or business intelligence tools considered an asset
